The Embassy of Spain in Abuja has released a statement to announce that the Awards Ceremony of the 11th edition of the Visual Arts Competition with the topic “Idealism & Fantasy” will take place on Thursday 29th of September, 2016 at the Thought Pyramid Art Centre.
This event aims at promoting young Nigerian talents and marks as well the 4th Centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, the author of worldwide famous masterwork Don Quixote.
The press release states that a selection panel constituted by Nigerian representatives of the Arts and the Embassy of Spain in Abuja will designate the winner of the competition who will have the opportunity to travel to Madrid in February next year to visit ARCO, one of the major contemporary art fairs in the world.
According to the Embassy of Spain in Abuja, during the previous week of the event (26th to 29th), an open contest will take place through the Embassy’s Facebook page cultur@nigeria.es. The general audience will have an opportunity to designate their favourite artwork and a certificate will be given to the winner artist.
