Nigerian government in collaboration with African Development Bank commences empowerment of 100,000 Nigerians

The Federal Government in collaboration with the African Development Bank under the Supervision of The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment have commenced the empowerment of 100,000 Nigerians who will be equipped and funded with Empowerment items and materials across the nation. 

This was made known in a statement released in Abuja by Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. The statement revealed that this move by the FG is geared towards assisting Nigerians to be self sufficient, empowered rather than seeking jobs.

Speaking at the meeting with the theme ” Sustaining the Change agenda through Empowerment “, The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, stressed the need to empower Nigerians through Meaningful and Practical Means.
The Employment items include Taxi vehicles, Block Moulding machines, hair-dryers, Power generating sets, Commercial tricycles, called ” marwa “, Motor bikes, Sewing Machines, Laptops, among others.
The statement further advised interested Nigerians to visit the Zonal offices of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment to apply, or visit the ministry portal to apply or apply directly through Email via ministryoflabour.ng@gmail.com
The President of the African Development Bank, Mr Akinwummi Adesina thanked President Buhari and assured that the Empowerment initiative was free from discrimination.
President Buhari thanked Mr Adesina and reiterated his administration commitment towards job creation, self empowerment, and reducing the Level of Unemployment.
